Most of our clients are owner-operators. A contractor who needs equipment financing. A couple opening their second restaurant. A founder testing whether an idea is worth two years of their life. People who are very good at running their business and have never had a reason to write a forty-page document about it.

What they usually need isn't a consulting firm on a retainer. It's someone who will do the research properly, tell them the truth about what it says, and put it in a document a lender, an investor or their own team can act on — for a price agreed at the start.

So we stayed small on purpose. The person you speak to on your first call is the person who does your work, and we cap how much we take on at once so that stays true. When we're full, we'll tell you when we're free rather than hand you to someone you've never met.

How we work

Almost everything is done remotely, which keeps costs down and means where you are doesn't matter. Most engagements need about three hours of your time in total: a short call, a questionnaire, and a review of the draft.
